Job Description:
KL International School (KLIS) in Chongqing, China, is seeking a visionary and experienced Academic Dean of Primary to lead the academic program for our primary division (PreK to Grade 5). The ideal candidate will provide instructional leadership, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning aligned with the US Common Core Curriculum while fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive environment. This role requires a strong focus on both academic excellence and cultural competencies, guiding teachers in best practices that meet the needs of our diverse, international student body.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and implementation of the primary school curriculum, ensuring alignment with the US Common Core Standards and best practices in early childhood and elementary education.
Provide instructional leadership through regular teacher observations, feedback, and professional development, focusing on differentiated instruction and student-centered learning.
Collaborate with teachers to create a learning environment that reflects the cultural diversity of the student body, promoting inclusion and respect for all cultures.
Use data to monitor student progress and work with teachers to implement targeted interventions where necessary.
Lead and support teachers in integrating technology into the classroom to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Engage parents in meaningful communication regarding student progress, school curriculum, and overall school culture, with a sensitivity to cultural differences.
Collaborate with school leadership to ensure a cohesive educational experience that bridges primary and secondary education.

Experience working in an international school environment, with a deep understanding of the cultural nuances required to work effectively with international families.
