Experience working in an international setting or with a culturally diverse population is preferred.

Job Description:
KL International School (KLIS) in Chongqing, China, is looking for an innovative and dedicated Academic Dean of Secondary to lead the academic program for our middle and high school divisions (Grades 6-12). The ideal candidate will champion academic rigor, college readiness, and a commitment to 21st-century skills while supporting the development of culturally competent global citizens. This role involves overseeing curriculum development, teacher professional growth, and student academic outcomes, with a focus on creating a respectful and inclusive international school community.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and implementation of the secondary school curriculum, ensuring alignment with the US Common Core Standards, AP programs, and best practices in middle and high school education.
Lead the professional development of secondary teachers, focusing on differentiated instruction, student engagement, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
Monitor academic progress using data-driven approaches, guiding teachers to implement interventions and support systems to enhance student outcomes.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate real-world applications, technology, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities that prepare students for global citizenship and higher education.
Foster a culture of academic excellence and personal growth, ensuring that students are well-prepared for university and beyond.
Develop strong partnerships with parents and the broader community, understanding the unique cultural expectations and communication styles of Chinese and international families.
Work closely with the high school guidance counselor to ensure effective college planning, beginning in Grade 8, that aligns with student goals and family expectations.
