Bromsgrove International School, Thailand, is a well-established co-educational boarding and day school for over 520 students from ages 2 to 18. The school follows the English National Curriculum, adapted for our international context, from EYFS through to IGCSE, A-Levels and BTEC. We are affiliated to Bromsgrove School, one of the UK’s most prestigious independent boarding and day schools, steeped in over 450 years of history. We now seek a dynamic and inspirational Assistant Head of Secondary (Academic) who wishes to be part of a professionally dynamic, supportive and forward thinking learning community, in a wonderful Southeast Asian setting. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic Secondary School Leadership Team (SSLT) and will be fully involved in continuing to develop the academic provision in the Secondary School. The role will focus on the leadership of the Heads of Faculty, continuing to drive excellence in academic standards and curriculum design; leading to outstanding examination results and academic provision for all Secondary students. Any teaching subject specialism will be considered for this exciting leadership position in the Secondary School.
Outstanding candidates with current middle leadership experience (as Head of Faculty and/or Head of Department) seeking an opportunity in senior leadership will be considered for this role and are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate should:
Hold a BA/BSc. degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (i.e. PGCE/GTP/Teach First) with UK QTS (or overseas equivalent)
Have a minimum of five years teaching experience in the UK or overseas in a British curriculum school
Have a proven track record of excellent classroom, pedagogical practice and external examination results
Have a thorough knowledge of the English National Curriculum within their subject specialism
Have a good ability to use IT to support teaching, learning and leadership
Be able to engage, motivate and support children, staff and parents
Be a reflective leader with the ability to think creatively, innovate and inspire others in their practice
Be a positive and enthusiastic member of the school community
Be willing to be fully involved in the extra-curricular life of the Boarding School
