To build and lead a small boarding team to provide a safe, caring boarding environment that enriches the lives of the students.
To ensure the boarding team receive regular formal supervision and are subjected to an annual performance review system.
To have a good understanding of Thai Dormitory Act, B.E. 2558 (2015) and the boarding services’ duty of statutory care obligations for the compulsory school age and under 18 student groups.
To prioritize the safeguarding, welfare and health and safety of students above all other duties and be familiar with statutory safeguarding and child protection requirements, as well as relevant school policy.
Responsibilities
Alignment with our partner school vision and mission:
Ensure that the boarding program aligns with our partner school’s vision, mission, and learner outcomes.
Uphold accountability by documenting and adhering to well-defined goals, policies, and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with governing authorities, partner school leadership, partner school teachers, staff, students, parents, guardians, and the community.
Communicate program expectations effectively to all stakeholders.
Operational Excellence:
Implement operational procedures that prioritize health, safety, and student well-being.
Develop and enforce a comprehensive code of conduct consistent with our partner school’s policies.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and supervise boarding staff.
Ensure staff qualifications match the needs of boarders.
Supervision and Professional Development:
Establish ongoing supervision, evaluation, and learning processes for boarding staff.
Support staff in achieving program goals.
Diversity and Inclusion:
Foster a culture that respects student diversity and individual needs.
Provide emotional support and counseling as needed.
Parent and Guardian Communication:
Regularly engage with parents and guardians regarding program aspects.
Set clear expectations and monitor compliance.
Academic and Personal Support:
Develop a holistic support program for both boarding and day students.
Collaborate with teachers and provide emotional support.
Continuous Improvement:
Evaluate all aspects of the boarding program in alignment with the school’s purpose.
Implement a well-developed short- and long-term plan.
Facility Assessment and Development:
Regularly assess boarding facilities based on student needs.
Consider staff-to-student ratios, living quarters, and essential services.
Qualifications
Experience managing residential or boarding programs.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.
