HeadStart is based in the centre of Phuket Island and gained ‘International School’ status in 2010 and is a fully accredited International School with The Education Development Trust. In our most recent inspection, we were awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) with accreditors recognising the school to be a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’.
Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum of England, and we offer Cambridge & Pearson qualifications in secondary school, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs. The school's main campus at Chaofah has 960 students and is oversubscribed in most year groups. From August 2025, we will expand our Upper School site and provision to make 'HeadStart College' the premier educational institution in the South of Thailand.
In August 2023, we opened a new campus in the north of the island, Cherngtalay. This is a two-form entry Foundation, Primary and Secondary School (KS3 only) for up to 500 students and will be moving to a three-form entry school in August 2025.
Business BTEC Teacher Level 3 and 2 - Chaofah Campus
Due to the expansion of our Upper School site and programmes for Sixth Form and Key Stage 4, we are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Business BTEC Teacher Level 3 and 2 to start in August 2025.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience teaching Business at key stage four, Business IGCSE/GCSE, and Business BTEC Levels 2 and 3.
They should be an inspiring teacher who can bring the subject alive.
We are looking for a highly committed team player with drive, energy, and passion who will inspire a love of learning in their students. A good sense of humour and an excellent work ethic are essential.
Requirements / Application Details
Essential Requirements:
· Excellent knowledge of the UK curriculum
· Experience teaching students in the age range 11 to 18
· Previous experience of teaching Business
· Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
· A recognised teaching qualification: BEd.; PGCE; iPGCE or equivalent
· Must be a fluent English speaker
Desirable Requirements (not essential):
· Previous experience in an International School environment
· Experience teaching English as an Additional Language learners
· Previous experience teaching Business IGCSE/GCSE and Business BTEC Levels 2 and 3
· Be able to teach an additional subject such as, Travel & Tourism at BTEC level 2 and 3 or Computing at Key Stage Three
· Knowledge of the specification, understand grading at assignment, unit and qualification levels and how to write and deliver engaging assessments
· Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress in line with BTEC assessment criteria
· Ensure students understand and meet deadlines for coursework submission
· Understand the standardisation/internal verification procedure in preparation for the external standardisation process
· Develop students' understanding of key business concepts such as marketing, finance, management, entrepreneurship and can link theoretical business concepts with practical applications
· Provide career insights into different business industries & incorporate real-world business scenarios and case studies into lessons to enhance learning
· Stay updated on the latest BTEC Business education and vocational learning developments.
