The Role
Classroom Teachers at DBS have responsibility for securing the highest standards of achievement, specific to the year group, subjects and students that they teach. This occurs through excellent teaching, effective monitoring, evaluation and review of the learning progress and teaching outcomes, and setting targets for improvement. A range of subject-specialist teachers will enhance the curriculum.
Key Stage 2 class teachers will take responsibility for the academic and pastoral development of students in their class. They will teach wellbeing, English, Maths and join Games sessions twice per week and support school sports fixtures. In Year 6, teachers teach across the year group in a subject where they have a specialist interest and knowledge (either Art, Drama or Humanities). The Teacher must subscribe fully to the core values of DBS, and understand how academic study, pastoral care and co-curricular activities contribute equally within it. The Teacher will be responsible to their Head of Section.
The candidate is expected to start in the role from April 2025, but the school will consider an earlier start if the candidate is available.
