Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Computer Science/IT Teacher to join our international school for Years 10 to 13. The successful candidate will teach Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A-Level Computer Science and IT courses, contributing to our commitment to excellence in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery:
- Teach IGCSE ICT (0417) and Computer Science (0478), as well as AS & A-Level Computer Science (9618) and Information Technology (9626).
- Design and deliver lessons that align with the Cambridge syllabus and STEAM initiatives.
- Integrate practical programming, algorithm development, and system life cycles into classroom instruction.
- Student Development:
- Foster computational thinking, problem-solving skills, and ethical use of technology.
- Encourage innovation and critical thinking through project-based learning and STEAM activities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Resource Management:
- Utilize a variety of teaching resources, including software, hardware, and online platforms, to enhance learning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary STEAM projects.
- Participate in continuous professional development, including Cambridge teacher training programs.
- Engage in school events, such as coding competitions and IT fairs.
Classroom Management:
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Ensure the safety and security of students while using IT resources.
Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a teaching qualification is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE or AS/A-Level Computer Science/IT.
- Demonstrated expertise in programming languages (Python, Java, etc.), web development, and database management.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Cambridge syllabus and assessment objectives.
- Ability to integrate STEAM principles into the curriculum.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for technology and education.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of AI, robotics, or other emerging technologies.
- Experience leading student STEAM projects or IT-related extracurricular activities.
- Working Hours and Location
- Full-time position with teaching periods and preparation time.
- Based on-site at Windfield International School Koh Samui Thailand.
