School Details –

HeadStart is based in the centre of Phuket Island and gained ‘International School’ status in 2010 and is a fully accredited International School with The Education Development Trust. In our most recent inspection, we were awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) with accreditors recognising the school to be a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’.
Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum of England, and we offer Cambridge & Pearson qualifications in secondary school, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs. The school's main campus at Chaofah has 960 students and is oversubscribed in most year groups. From August 2025, we will expand our Upper School site and provision to make 'HeadStart College' the premier educational institution in the South of Thailand.
In August 2023, we opened a new campus in the north of the island, Cherngtalay. This is a two-form entry Foundation, Primary and Secondary School (KS3 only) for up to 500 students and will be moving to a three-form entry school in August 2025.
Director of Sport (Cross Campus) –
The existing post holder has decided to move to another role within the school and as such, the position of Director of Sport has become available for the first time in seven years!
The Director of Sport is responsible all sporting programmes throughout the school across both our campuses. This includes curriculum PE, sporting ECA programmes and academies in football, swimming and basketball. They line manage Heads of PE on both campuses, along with Head Coaches of the three academies described above.
The Director of Sport is a member of the school's Senior Management Team and reports directly to the Headmaster.
Ensuring that all residential trips to Bangkok and other locations are organised correctly and follow standard protocols are a key feature of the remit of this role along with organising the various events that HeadStart hosts, for example the Aqua Panthers Invitational and 24 hours to Make a Difference Charity sports event.
We are looking for a highly committed team player with drive, energy and passion, who will lead all sports programme across both our campuses. A good sense of humour and an excellent work ethic are essential.
Requirements / Application Details –
Essential Requirements:
Significant experience of leadership in PE and/or Sports provision within a school environment
Experience of working in an international school setting
A eye to detail in logistical organisation of events
Ability to motivate and inspire staff and to drive improvement
Outstanding communication and people skills
Knowledge of IGCSE and BTEC programmes in PE/Sport
At least 3 years experience in a leadership and management role
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
A recognised teaching qualification: BEd.; PGCE; or equivalent
Must be a fluent English speaker
