Primary at Garden: The Primary phase of the school is a two-form entry with partner teachers, teaching assistants and specialist teachers working closely together to deliver our unique student-centred curriculum. The successful candidate will be an excellent all-around teacher with good organisational skills and initiative and a commitment to becoming involved in all aspects of school life. In addition, they should have a proven ability to communicate well with different sections of the school community. Experience in teaching the UK Early Years curriculum and knowledge of Read Write Inc Phonics would be desirable. Applicants should be well-organised, child-centred, and understand current pedagogical best practices in early childhood education.
We have a vibrant extracurricular programme across the school. Candidates who can coach sports, especially football, swimming, and basketball, or who are keen to develop the Arts programme would be particularly welcome.
Garden International School is a coeducational school of around 500 students, with classes from Early Years to Year 13. We have over 40 nationalities represented in our community and use an educational framework based on the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Many of our students have English as an Additional Language and are supported by a strong English as an Additional Language department. We have a small boarding facility, and the school has a wonderful sense of community. Class sizes are generally small, with the students well motivated, engaged in their learning and supported by their families. Year on year, our results are impressive, with around 90% of students achieving five or more A*- C grades at IGCSE and a 97% pass rate in the IB Diploma from 2022 - 2024.
