HeadStart is based in the centre of Phuket Island and gained ‘International School’ status in 2010 and is a fully accredited International School with The Education Development Trust. In our most recent inspection, we were awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) with accreditors recognising the school to be a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’.
Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum of England, and we offer Cambridge & Pearson qualifications in secondary school, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs.
The school's main campus at Chaofah has 960 students and is oversubscribed in most year groups. From August 2025, we will expand our Upper School site and provision to make 'HeadStart College' the premier educational institution in the South of Thailand.
In August 2023, we opened a new campus in the north of the island, Cherngtalay. This is a two-form entry Foundation, Primary and Secondary School (KS3 only) for up to 500 students, and will be moving to a three-form entry school in August 2025.
Head of Creative Arts –
We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Head of Creative Arts to lead our dynamic team of Art & Design Technology teachers for August 2025.
The Head of Creative Arts will work in partnership with the Director of Creative and Performing Arts to promote and develop the direction of Art & Deisgn and DT within the school. They will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching, and be passionate about innovative teaching and learning. They will be committed to curriculum development; having a full understanding of the English national curriculum for Art & Design across all phases. Experience of Cambridge and/or Pearson post-14 qualifications is essential.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful leadership of teams of teachers.
We are looking for a highly committed team player with drive, energy and passion, who will inspire a love of learning within their students. A good sense of humour and an excellent work ethic are essential.
Requirements / Application Details –
Essential Requirements:
· Good Knowledge of the UK based curriculum and experience of teaching students in all phases
· Sound understanding of the assessment requirements for IGCSE & A Level Art
· Proven track record
· Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
· A recognised teaching qualification: BEd.; PGCE; iPGCE or equivalent
· Must be a fluent English speaker
Desirable Requirements (not essential):
· Previous experience in an International School environment
· Experience of teaching learners who have English as an Additional Language.
