HeadStart is based in the centre of Phuket Island and gained ‘International School’ status in 2010 and is a fully accredited International School with The Education Development Trust. In our most recent inspection, we were awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) with accreditors recognising the school to be a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features’.
Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum of England, and we offer Cambridge & Pearson qualifications in secondary school, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs. The school's main campus at Chaofah has 960 students and is oversubscribed in most year groups. From August 2025, we will expand our Upper School site and provision to make 'HeadStart College' the premier educational institution in the South of Thailand.
In August 2023, we opened a new campus in the north of the island, Cherngtalay. This is a two-form entry Foundation, Primary and Secondary School (KS3 only) for up to 500 students and will be moving to a three-form entry school in August 2025.
Head of Learning Support
We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Head of Learning Support to lead our dynamic team of Learning Support Assistants for August 2025.
The Head of Learning Support will develop and implement strategies that overcome barriers to learning, ensuring all students achieve their full potential. The role involves implementing the school’s SEN policy, identifying and assessing pupil needs, coordinating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and working closely with students, staff, parents, and external specialists.
Key responsibilities include: managing SEN resources, providing staff training, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the strategic development of SEN provision. The ideal candidate will have teaching credentials, SEN coordination experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. Essential Requirements:
· Recognised teaching credentials and a qualification related to SEN coordination.
· Proven experience in coordinating SEN provision in an educational setting.
· Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
· Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
· Must be a fluent English speaker
Desirable Requirements (not essential):
· Previous experience in an International School environment
· Experience of teaching learners who have English as an Additional Language.
