Head of Music
Kings’ School Al Barsha is seeking an experienced and qualified Head of Music to lead our department.
The school runs GSCE and A-Level courses in Music. The Music Faculty is excellently resourced and enjoys the active support of the senior leadership, who have a passion for music and view it as essential to the curriculum.
The post holder will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day running of the school’s music department. They will ensure the curriculum feeds into and supports a vibrant programme of co-curricular and enrichment activities, allowing students to showcase their talents in all areas.
The department is superbly resourced with professional facilities for sound recording, a wide variety of instruments and a broad peripatetic music programme, as well as purpose-built classrooms to encourage and display students’ creativity.
As such this is a superb opportunity for an aspiring, imaginative and inspirational leader to join a highly creative and dynamic environment. You will be determined to make Music a leading light within the school community.

Requirements:
Essential
A high-quality degree with Music as the sole or significant focus
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Minimum 3 years’ experience of GCSE and A Level
Strong subject knowledge and sheer enthusiasm for the subject that you are ready to share with our staff and students
Able to teach consistently inspirational lessons and a track record/ability to deliver results
Experience in running music clubs, assemblies and productions is essential
A commitment to the well-being and pastoral care of all students within their care
Able and willing to make a broader contribution to school life
Innovative, creative and positive mindset
