Job Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated History and Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in History and Social Studies and a commitment to fostering a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. This position involves teaching both History and Social Studies to middle and high school students, encouraging critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of historical and social concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in History and Social Studies that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the academic standards and promotes an understanding of historical events, social issues, and cultural perspectives.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods of assessment, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop cross-curricular activities and interdisciplinary units.
- Participate in curriculum planning and professional development activities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress, attendance, and achievements.
- Foster a positive relationship with students, parents, and the school community to support student development.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community outreach programs to promote social studies education.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Certification: Valid teaching certification in History or Social Studies. Additional qualifications in education or pedagogy are an advantage.
Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience in History or Social Studies at the middle or high school level.
