Work Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in your teaching subject. Many of our teachers hold multiple advanced degrees in their field. For Elementary and Early Education positions, a degree in this or related field is acceptable and/or encouraged.
A minimum of two years teaching experience as the lead teacher of record in a classroom. This is a requirement for you to obtain a working visa.
An eagerness and willingness to collaborate with and elevate teaching colleagues. Our teachers come from all over the world and bring a wide variety of curricular backgrounds and experience. We seek to utilize this diversity to grow and learn from each other.
High academic standards and a desire to make a difference in the rigor of international education.

A qualified candidate should possess strong ICT-CS skills. A background in Technology/Design teaching is preferable as well as the following technical abilities:
Experience with block-based coding
Experience with 3D modeling software
Experience with robotics/electrical engineering (i.e., Arduino, micro:bit, LEGO EV3, etc.)
Productivity/multimedia – Office365/multimedia applications
Preferred: Subject matter postgraduate work (Master’s or Ph.D.) is preferred. Together with a high level of educational attainment, a successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills in teaching ideas, texts, and concepts with precision and confidence. Must be open to innovative ideas in teaching

As an ICT teacher, you will have the opportunity to present the material in your own way, and in the way that will best enhance student understanding and excitement for the subject. This is an introductory course on Information and Communication Technologies. Topics include ICT terminologies, hardware and software components, the Internet and World Wide Web, and ICT-based applications.

As a Computer Science teacher, you will have the opportunity to present the material in your own way, and in the way that will best enhance student understanding and excitement for the subject. Topics covered include design strategies and methodologies, organization of data, and common algorithms. A focus on problem-solving using Java is a component of the course and is further enhanced by hands-on lab experiences throughout the course.

Primary Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare subject-specific lessons in ICT and Computer Science.
Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade standard, in an interactive learning environment, and deliver exceptional results for all students.
Implement BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students’ education is at an internationally competitive level.
Collaborate with other BASIS International teachers to form a community of smart, talented, and interesting people who are passionate about education and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment.
Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to heighten the trajectory of students’ academic and career success.
Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality in all students.
