ROLE SUMMARY:
All EIS teachers should display motivation, life-long learner attributes, and excellent interpersonal skills as they meet the challenges of educating students from diverse international and host country backgrounds. The classroom environment should be well planned and organized, be stimulating, and engaging, providing high quality instruction and learning, underpinned by the ability to deliver inquiry-based, transdisciplinary units, where applicable, across the three IB programmes.
All teachers need to work collaboratively with others in their section, and across sections, and liaise effectively with the IB Coordinators, in the development implementation and review of the curriculum, assessment and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching MYP English Language Acquisition
Homeroom teacher duties
Active member of the school community
All teachers are expected to contribute to the development of the academic and pastoral curriculum, working independently and as part of the team.
Supervision of after-school activities
In addition, the teacher is expected to undertake any other reasonable task assigned by the Head of Middle & High School and the Co-Head of School.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Bachelor of Education in English and Teaching Certification in English
At least 3 year experience in international schools
Excellent organisational skills and a proven record of setting up quality teaching and learning programmes specifically related to English Language acquisition
Native or near-native level of written and spoken English
An independent and entrepreneurial self-starter able to work alone and with colleagues across a range of backgrounds
Excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic about working in an international environment
Experience of the IB’s Middle Years Programme would be highly desired, and experience of Diploma Programme would be desirable
