Job Summary:
The PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) in Political Science will be responsible for teaching students in senior secondary classes (Classes 11 and 12), preparing them for board exams, and helping them understand the fundamentals and complexities of political science. This role demands an individual with a strong academic background in political science, the ability to engage and inspire students, and a passion for teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery:
– Teach political science as per the curriculum prescribed by the respective board (CBSE, ICSE, etc.).
– Design lesson plans, and ensure effective delivery of the subject matter in accordance with the syllabus.
– Foster a positive learning environment through interactive teaching methodologies, discussions, and debates.
– Develop and deliver engaging lectures, practical assignments, and assessments.
– Provide additional support to students struggling with concepts through remedial classes.
2. Assessment & Evaluation:
– Prepare, administer, and grade regular tests, assignments, and projects.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.
– Conduct regular feedback sessions with students, helping them understand areas for improvement.
– Prepare students for internal and board examinations with mock tests, revision sessions, and one-on-one guidance.
3. Classroom Management:
– Maintain discipline in the classroom while creating a conducive learning environment.
– Encourage critical thinking, active participation, and intellectual curiosity.
– Manage classroom resources and materials effectively.
4. Student Development & Counseling:
– Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
– Assist students with subject selection, university applications, and career guidance, as needed.
– Promote a passion for civic engagement, democracy, and the understanding of political systems.
5. Professional Development:
– Attend departmental and school meetings as required.
– Participate in training workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on educational best practices and developments in political science.
– Collaborate with colleagues to share teaching strategies and resources.
6. Administrative Duties:
– Ensure that records related to attendance, progress reports, and evaluations are maintained.
– Assist in organizing school events related to political science, debates, and quiz competitions.
– Participate in extra-curricular activities such as model UN, mock elections, and social awareness programs.
Required Qualifications:
Educational Qualification:
– Master’s Degree (MA) in Political Science or related field from a recognized university.
– Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience:
– Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary (Class 11-12) level in political science.
– Previous experience with CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE curriculum is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
– Strong knowledge of political science, current affairs, and global politics.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to engage students in critical thinking and discussions.
– Proficiency in using educational technologies and teaching tools.
