School Context
Regent’s International School, Bangkok is a well-established international school for day and boarding students. The school delivers a locally adapted English curriculum to students, including the IGCSE qualifications at the end of Year 11. At sixth form, the school offers the IB Diploma Programme and is being authorised to offer the IB Career-Related Pathway.
Students at Regent’s come from Thailand and across the region. The school is a privately owned school and all families (except those on scholarships) pay fees for the school’s services.
The school is a member of Round Square, the Federation of British International Schools In Asia (FOBISIA), the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) and the Thailand International Schools Athletic Committee (TISAC).
Regent’s is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and ONESQA.

Position Specific Responsibilities
Planning Teaching and Class Management
● Structure sequences of lessons having regard to the schemes of learning and phase level practice which ensure that time is used effectively to cover the curriculum
● Design and deliver teaching and learning which is relevant and challenges all students
● Recognise the differing needs of learners (including those with ELD and SEND) and ensure that those needs are met
● Liaise with colleagues to share plans, resources and identify student needs.
● Work alongside Teaching Assistants to ensure that they are used effectively to support the learning of students.
● Make effective use of assessment to adjust and review planning
● Apply the school positive culture policy consistently
● Plan opportunities, where appropriate, for students to reflect on feedback in various forms and improve their work accordingly
● Self-evaluate teaching critically to improve effectiveness
Monitoring, Assessment, Recording and Reporting
● Assess and record students’ progress systematically to; check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and weaknesses and inform planning, adapting teaching appropriately as a result
● Communicate effectively with the parents of students
● Contribute to the reporting process
● Communicate a summary of student progress and areas for development at Parents’ Evenings
Pastoral and Wellbeing
● Deliver the pastoral curriculum programme as appropriate
● Know students in your class; their strengths, interests and areas for development
● Promote high standards of conduct and attitudes to learning
● Monitor and provide advice and guidance on individual student’s progress in respect of attendance, homework, discipline and acceptable standards of conduct and appearance
● Communicate effectively with staff and parents as an advocate for students
● Complete administrative tasks relating to the class
● Attend Phase level meetings
● Provide references as part of school procedures for student references Personal Attributes, Skills and Characteristics
● Subject Knowledge & Communication: Strong understanding of core subjects (such as literacy, numeracy, and science) combined with the ability to communicate concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate manner for young learners, while also effectively interacting with parents and colleagues.
● Classroom Management & Leadership: Ability to create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment that fosters positive behaviour and motivation, helping younger students develop social skills and confidence.
● Adaptability & Technological Proficiency: Capacity to adjust teaching methods to suit varying learning styles and developmental stages, while utilising digital tools and interactive technology to enhance primary education.
● Empathy & Patience: A nurturing, patient approach that recognizes the individual challenges young children face, supporting their emotional, social, and academic development.
● Cultural Awareness & Professionalism: Sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of students, promoting inclusivity, and upholding ethical and professional standards in all classroom interactions.
● Assessment & Feedback: Ability to assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive and developmental feedback tailored to the needs of each child. Qualifications and Requirements
● Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Internationally Recognised Teaching Certification: A UK QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) is essential for primary education.
● Degree in a Relevant Subject: A Bachelor's degree (or higher), typically in education or a subject relevant to primary teaching.
● Experience in an International or Multicultural Environment: Proven experience in teaching, with an emphasis on those who have worked in international or culturally diverse settings.
● Knowledge of International Primary Curriculums: Familiarity with the English National Curriculum or international programmes such as the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) or International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).
● Enhanced DBS or Local Equivalent Check: A clean criminal background check, including the Enhanced DBS or its equivalent in the country of employment, is required.
● Cultural Sensitivity and Adaptability: Ability to effectively engage with students from various cultural backgrounds and to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning environments.
● Commitment to Professional Development: Dedication to continuous learning and professional development, with a focus on keeping up with the latest educational best practices, especially in international primary education contexts.
