The Vice Principal:
Ensures an appropriate school culture, learning environment and instructional program in line with the schools’ philosophy and the requirements of the school curriculum and instructional programme.
Provide effective, dynamic, and inspirational leadership to ensure the social, emotional and academic progress of each student.
Promotes a positive view of the school community and in particular, the role of parents in the learning process.
Support the ASC team in fostering the academic aspects, including greeting and meeting with parents and students when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leadership and Management

Organize the day-to-day running operation of the School
Build a collaborative learning culture and actively engage with other sections to build effective learning communities.
Develop, motivate, and lead all staff to achieve the highest professional standards.
Orientate new teachers, students, and parents in liaison with the Head of School
Ensure job descriptions and performance management of all staff are based on clear roles and responsibilities, reviewed at least annually and consistent with current conditions of employment, in conjunction with the Head of School.
Responsibility for the appraisal of the teachers and teacher assistants in the Sections as documented (goal setting, classroom observations, staff appraisal, including self-reflection form). All documentation is available to the Head of School.
Responsibility for PTC’s, Staff meetings.
Review, plan and order teaching materials, book orders, staff resources, etc., considering the needs of the school and vertical articulation of the curriculum, in conjunction with the Head of School.
Make provisions to be available to students and parents during Parents/Teacher/Student Conferences and school meetings/ workshops/ seminars, etc., outside of the instructional day, as dictated by professional obligations.
Involvement in extracurricular activities, field trips and school events.
Maintain sound procedures for the security, safety, and supervision of all the community, ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
From a pro-active and effective working partnership with the Head of School.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion in professional matters and issues of conflict
Resolve problems with colleagues in an honest, frank, and non-threatening manner.
Ensure that all responsibilities delegated by the Head of School are conducted.
Responsible for the discipline of all students.
Be punctual to school, to lessons and to duties.
Participate actively and, in an informed manner, in curriculum development.
Demonstrate professionalism related to all aspects of a Head of Section's performance.
Demonstrate effective management skills.
Model and ensure exemplary standards of behavior, personal appearance, professional dress, ethics, punctuality, honesty, and fairness for all Staff members.
Undertake other such duties as may be expected.

2. Teaching, Learning, Curriculum and Standards
Work collaboratively to support the implementation of the curricular programmes, which should inspire and engage all students
Ensure a consistent and continuous school-wide focus on pupil assessment and achievement, using appropriate data to set, monitor, track and evaluate individual pupil progress.
Support teachers in the development of a nurturing, caring pastoral care environment for all pupils.
Through the appraisal process, monitor, evaluate and review classroom practice and promote strategies which support improved student outcomes, always aiming for outstanding standards of learning and teaching.

3. Communication and Consultation
Build effective relationships with all other Leaders, Teachers, and Staff through excellent communication and people skills, taking and providing appropriate advice, suggestions.
Coordinate the School’s work with the other Sections to ensure smooth transition and articulation of the curriculum.
Where applicable, consult with the Head of School regarding all students’ academic progress, discipline, and social/ emotional issues.
Be diplomatic and discreet in all professional dealings with parents, building effective relationships with the parent body.
Promote a positive public image of the school.
Refrain from statements or activities that might bring the school into disrepute and refrain from criticizing the school or any member of the school community to third parties.
Review and make decisions regarding the acceptance of new students when requested, particularly in the absence of the Head of School.

4. School Community
To act as “first point of contact” for all parent enquiries of the school.
To assist, support and advise teachers regarding effective communication with parents (e.g. report writing).
To promote and communicate the school's programs and activities through regular school publications, special announcements and meetings with parents and to update all relevant subject material in school publications
To liaise and consult with parents on individual student and schoolwide matters.
To organise Parent Information Events/Evenings including Back to School Events, Open Days, Parent Teacher Conference Days and Parent Education Seminars.
Other tasks assigned by Line Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

· Master’s degree in Education

· Experience in a senior educational role with knowledge of school culture and curriculum.

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.

· Focus on supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

· Strong ability to work with staff, students, and parents.

· Ability to lead and motivate staff in a collaborative environment.

· Capable of making key decisions

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
